Small Biz Spotlight- WeRCrafts

We R Crafts

Each month we feature amazing small businesses to help us all meet new people, build relationships, and support each other in the small business community! This week’s feature is from a shop that creates unique machine sewn items. So, without further ado, I introduce to you…

Tell us a little bit about yourself:img_3882_201024x1024_original

We are a Mother and daughter business. Together we planned my wedding in 2013 and after discovering how we were able to create ceremony decorations for the church pews, along with creating the reception decorations such as table centerpieces, a ceiling with beautiful silver stars, twinkling lights behind the surrounding wall of the hall, along with twinkling lights around the bride and groom main table, we received many compliments and were asked where we ordered these items from. We put their minds together and created WeRCrafts. We offer children’s clothing, kitchen towels and hot pads, baby mats, children’s tutus and wands, Christmas stockings, traveling children’s games, and crayon totes along with new items each week. We travel to vendor shows, receive many custom orders to include tailoring, offer our select products on Storenvy and Facebook. We have created many items for weddings including unique ring bearer pillows, ring bearer bow ties, and bridesmaid sashes to include the bride!

Family, friends, and customers inspired us!!! We were able to create custom orders, costumes, along with all of our unique items to bring a smile upon someone’s face.

Tell a little bit about your business.

We are a Mother and daughter business. We both inspire each other and have very creative sewing techniques. We are always searching for the next item to create and aspire us.img_3938_201024x1024_original

What do you enjoy most about running your business?

We work full time throughout the week, and have some days that are more stressful than others. we are able to de-stress by sitting at our sewing machines and creating unique machine sewn items, creating the next tutu costume, or working with a new or repeating customer to bring a smile on their face with a suggested design.

We search for vendor shows that have been a very good and supported show the last year and we search for new ones to create more and more business opportunities. We are able to promote our goods at shows by donating items for raffles, raising monies for the needy, a church, etc. We plan to perform even better each year that we are in business. We search for online opportunities to promote our company and products.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Our biggest drive is we lost my Father just last year, so we kind of dove head first into this business really trying to raise it to the next level. He was always so proud of us and bragging to all his friends look at what my Daughter or Wife made. He would even get custom orders for us from his coworkers. In a way, our Craft Business is really helping us through a dark and tough time one project at a time.img_1624_original
